Liquid rubber generally does not stick well to non-porous surfaces like plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene, as well as certain silicones and Teflon (PTFE). These materials have low surface energy, which prevents the rubber from adhering properly. To improve adhesion, surfaces can be treated or primed, but these materials are typically used as release agents because of their resistance to sticking.
