Fabric softener should not be used for towels, children's clothes, sportswear, flame-retardant clothing, and microfiber cloths. It can reduce the absorbency of towels, impair the wicking capabilities of sportswear, decrease the fire resistance of flame-retardant clothing, and clog the fibers of microfiber cloths.
