The Pale Crepe bands are the most expensive rubber bands due to their extremely high rubber content. In fact, they have the highest rubber content of all rubber bands. Rubber is relatively light. While there may be more bands per package and a higher band count of Pale Crepe bands, rubber, however, doesn't correlate to longevity. Rubber has better elasticity and has better retention of its original size and shape than other bands. Having said that, it is sensitive to UV light is subject to breakage and becoming brittle. The higher rubber content of Pale Crepe rubber bands makes them extremely soft. They are recommended for people with arthritis or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. They have a softer stretch than other rubber bands and are the most ergonomically friendly rubber band. If you're looking for band built for longevity, we recommend a non latex option, the Extreme EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) Rubber Bands, X-treme File Bands, 117B, 7 x 1/8, Black (Item ALL02004). The synthetic rubber makes the bands resilient to heat, UV, ozone, weather, and age, making them an ideal choice for a wide range of applications, from home to office to recreational uses.
