The Holmes® Blizzard Oscillating Table/Wall Fan has a polarized two-prong plug. One blade is wider than the other, and it fits into standard plug outlets. The plug is not grounded, and thus do not offer thus does not offer shock absorbency. That means that if there were a surge of electricity, or if the plug got wet, instead of perhaps blowing a fuse, you could damage the fan.
