ES Robbins® EverLife™ Chair Mat cleats should not cause any damage to your rug. The cleats are not spikes; they have a rounded, rectangular shape. So you don't have to worry about the cleats punching holes in your rug. However, you may want to contact the manufacturer of your rug to make sure that it is safe to use with PVC.
