Since your chair sits on a carpeted floor, you'll need hard wheel casters.
Now, there are two types wooden office chair bases: wood-clad and solid wood. Wood clad chair bases have metal cores, so it's possible that your caster stems are welded to the inner metal core. In that case, you'll need stemless hard wheel casters, available via special order. Just give us a call at 866-501-6055 and we'll take care of you.
If your chair has a solid wood base, you have to remove the old caster stems. This can be very difficult. We recommend prying the stems out with the claw side of a hammer. It may take some strength and determination! Good luck!
Once you have the stems out, you can install a new set of W-Stem Hard Wheel Casters. This is also a special order item. Again, give us a call at 866-501-6055 and we'll set you right up. Our hours are M-Th 9a-6p, Fr 9a-5p EST. We're closed Sat, Sun and major holidays.
