I broke a wheel on my chair it has C size caster stems, but the stem will not come out from the chair, can I buy ju Duet Dual Wheels, Grip Ring Type C Stem, 2" Soft Polyurethane Wheel, Matte Black, 5/Set Chair Casters & Chair Glides

I broke a wheel on my chair it has C size caster stems, but the stem will not come out from the chair, can I buy just the wheels without the stems? If not are the stems easily removed from the wheels? I was looking at the Duet Twin Wheels, 100 lbs./Caster, Nylon Bonded/Urethane, Matte Black, 5/Set those seem to be closest to what is currently on the chair.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your question about Master Caster Duet Twin Wheels.

Unless you have an office chair by Steelcase, a manufacturer that welds the stems to base, your caster stems will come out. It's just going to take some force. Try using a pair pliers, or hammer and flathead screwdriver to pry them out.

If you do have a Steelcase Chair with welded casters stems, you can special order stemless casters. Just give us a call at 866-501-6055. However, if you currently have 7/16" C stems, they can be removed. Plus, the stemless casters won't fit. Stemless casters only fit 3/8" diameter stems up to 1-5/16" long. Use a string to carefully measure your current casters' diameter.
