Thank you for your question about Universal Unruled Index Cards.

Index cards are made from heavy 11.6 pt. index card stock. This is for durability and rigidity. The heavier paper allows you to file and flip though your cards without bending, creasing or tearing. Construction paper stock is mostly used for art papers.
