Hi John,
Thank you for your question about Universal Desktop Laminators.
Only the 12" UNV84530 model can perform cold laminations. The 4" and 9" machines are for hot laminations only.
To switch the UNV84530 you just need to press the MODE Button. If you've recently completed a hot lamination project, the machine will have to cool first. You can download the complete UNV84530 Desktop Laminator Instruction here.
