Thank you for your question about 3M Easy Adjust Monitor Arms.
The Easy Adjust Monitor Arms offer two mounting options: grommet mounting and clamp mounting. The grommet mount attaches to desks up to 3" thick. The clamp mount attaches to desk up to 2-3/8" thick. You can download the mounting instructions here.
Since your desk is 3" thick, you'll need to use the grommet mount. If your desk doesn't have grommet holes, this mount will not work for you. In that case, I recommend the Kensington Column Mount Extended Monitor Arm SmartFit System, which will mount via clamp to desks up to 5" thick.
