Thank you for your question about cleaning the 1217A Martin Yale Paper Folder.
Here is a step -by-step guide to cleaning your folding machine. They are also available for download and print.
- Remove the Roller Cover by removing the 2 Allen head screws with a 5/32” allen wrench. ( the cover on top with the sticker that says “for best result”)
- Remove the feed tray and the second fold table.
- Spray the rollers with Martin Yale Rubber Roller Cleaner.
- Scrub all the rollers with a Scotch Brite Pad, the green kind for posts and pans.
- The feed roller is made of a softer rubber, so take care not to scrub this roller too aggressively.

- Dry all rollers with a clean, lint free cotton cloth.
- Reinstall fold table and feed tray.
The 1217A Folding Machine Survival Kit includes the rubber roller cleaner and cleaning pad, as well as a spare feed wheel, o-ring and retarder. Those parts wear out over time and aren't covered under warranty, so it's a good idea to keep them on hand.
