Hey Phil,
Thank you for your question about cleaning the 1711 Martin Yale Paper Folder.
Before you get started, you'll need Martin Yale Rubber Roller Cleaner, a Scotch Brite Pad (the green kind used on pots and pan), and a phillip head xxxx drive.
I've posted a step by step list below, and you can download and print the instructions as well.
Unplug your paper folder.
Remove the top cover with a phillip screwdriver.
Lift out the fold table.
Now you can reach all the fold rollers.
- Use the Scotch pad and rubber roller cleaner to scrub the four fold rollers and the feed wheel. Turn the rollers by hand to insure you clean the complete roller. The feed wheel is made of soft rubber, so don't be too aggressive with your scrubbing.
- Dry the rollers with a clean cotton cloth.
The 1711 Folding Machine Survival Kit includes cleaning supplies, as well as a replacement feed tire and retarder assembly. These parts wear out over time and are not covered under warranty. It's a good idea to keep spare replacement parts on hand, so you can always use your machine when you need to.
Hope this answers your question!
Best,
Frankye
