Ease of Use Skew Control is a feature of folding machines with electronic controls. This feature automatically adjusts the angle of the feed guides so that folds are uniform, crisp and precise.
The 1217A does not have electronic controls, so the feed guides have to be adjusted manually by loosening or tightening the skew control xxxx .
Adjusting the skew for more precise folds is a bit of a trial and error process with the 1217A. I recommend you do a few test folds first so you get the exact angles you want.
