Hi Clark,
Thank you for your question about United Facility Supply Gummed Kraft Sealing Tape. The main differences between reinforced and non-reinforced packaging tape are strength and intended use.
The reinforced tape is reinforced with fiberglass. The fiberglass increases strength and durability. This makes reinforced tape ideal for sealing cartons that will encounter rough or frequent handling. For example, if you are shipping a box through the mail, reinforced Cobra Tape ensures you box stays closed through transit.
Non-reinforced tape does not have the fiberglass reinforcement. This makes it ideal for sealing boxes that will only travel under controlled, secure conditions. For example, non-reinforced Blue Diamond Tape is ideal for sealing cartons shipped in bulk pallets.
Another difference between the two tapes is that non-reinforced tape is 100% biodegradable and recyclable because it doesn't have any fiberglass.
Hope this answers your question!
Best,
Frankye
