Hi Dar,

We really appreciate your interested in the HSM shredder, we have many shredders to choose from and the 390 and 386.3 are both excellent shredders and I will explain their difference. They are both built for shredding 20-22 sheets at a time, they both have a 16" feed opening, and have the same motor. The 390 can shred "cross cut" for higher security and the 386 is a strip cut shredded.

Secondly, the HSM has 3 year warranty for parts and labor. Cutting cylinders have a lifetime warranty. They will provide a local service for free while this item is under warranty, and they also have extended warranty available for these models and they will quote them on a as needed basis.

HSM as a company has been in business since 1971 and they are an industry leader in cutting and shredding. They have excellent products and excellent customer service and we are proud to offer their products to our customers.
