We are using this for tracking tool kits. We would like to know exactly what is required to track this item? Is there a fee to use the service, a free app for iphone or PC? What is the range on this item?

Hi Ron,

Thanks for your question about the Kensington Proximo Security System.

To use the Proximo system, you need an iPhone or Android smartphone, and the Proximo app. Search "Proximo" in the Apple App Store or Google Play to download the app to you phone. There is no fee for use.

The Find feature works within the tag and fob Bluetooth ranges of approximately 33ft. Once the devices are out of Bluetooth range, the Last Seen feature will show on a map where they were last connected to your phone.
