Thanks for your question about the Set-Your-Own Combination Lock by Master Lock.
This unique lock is the first of it's kind as it is a resettable combination lock using a reset tool that will allow to change the combination as many times as you want. Here is a link to the Master Lock website where you can view a video tutorial on how to reset your lock. I am also including the instructions below. If you are still unable to reset your lock with these instructions you will need to contact the manufacturer directly at 1-800-308-9242. The manufacturer product number is 1590D. NOTE: Once the lock has been set, there is no way to open it without the combination.
Reset Instructions
1. Open lock by turning to the preset combination by:
- turning right to the first number or letter.
- turn left, passing the first number or letter and then stopping on the second number or letter.
- turn right to the third number or letter
2. Pull up on the shackle to open it.
3. Once the lock is open insert the reset tool into the open hole so that the Master logo is facing the side of the lock.
4. Press it all the way down until you hear and feel it snap into place and the collar of the reset tool is resting on the hole.
5. Turn the tool 90 degrees in either direction until the Master logo is facing you.
6. To enter new combination, choose any three numbers or letters for your new combination such as your initials or your birthday. You can even use letters or numbers more than once.
7. After selecting your new combination:
- turn the dial three times to the right to clear out the old combination. Then, turn right to the first letter or number.
- Next turn left, passing the first letter or number and then stopping on your second letter or number.
- Turn right to your last letter or number.
8. Finish by turning the reset tool back 90 degrees so the Master logo is once again facing the side of the lock and then remove it
Congratulations, your new combination has been set! Go ahead and try it out. You can change your combination as many times as you want by following these instructions. Remember to keep your combination in a safe place or at www.masterlockvault.com for free.
