Thanks for your question. The combination lock without key is automatically set to open at "000". The lock can be left at this setting or you can set up your own personal combination by following these instructions:
1. Set the lock to "000". Which will look like this on your lock:

9 | 0 | 1 |
9 | 0 | 1 |
2. On the back of the lock is a change lever with two positions - A and B. Move the lever from position A to position B.
3. Next, change the three dials to your chosen personal combination. (We recommend that you make a note of this new combination and keep it in a safe place for future reference.)
4. Without changing the position of the dials, push the lever back to position A.
Before you close the key box and use the lock, please double check that the above instructions have been followed correctly. The lock can now only be opened by your new personal combination.
You can only close the combination lock when the correct combination is set. To change the combination on your lock in the future, simply repeat steps 2 -4.
