Hi Dennis,
Thank you for your question. This is one of the few white boards that does not have a marker rail attached to it. Morst white boards do have an attached marker rail and that rail holds together the whiteboard it self. When they are made that way you can not take off the marker rail without exposing the chip board behind the whiteboard surface. Hope this helps!
