Wow! What a great question and it makes total sense because this is a 100-Cup Percolating Urn. We called the manufacture Coffee Coffee Pro and they said that depending on the strength of the coffee you choose and flavor, but here is a general guideline:
1 pound of Coffee for a weak cup
1 1/2 pound for a standard cup of coffee
2 pounds for a strong cup of coffee
2 1/2 for a super strong cup of coffee
